BBC Children In Need Website: 2015 Design
Working as part of a company called 'ThankQ' (now Access Group), I was tasked with creating the front end of the Children in Need website. This was one of my favourite projects to date and one that I think just might be most proud to be a part of.
ThankQ handle the processing and calculation of donations given to CIN through the website, text message and mobile applications. The BBC already had a design and our job was seamlessly integrate our technology and front end into their ecosystem.
Not only did I complete the front end design, but I also set the BBC up with thier own SQL database on their server as part of this very prestigous handover.
The Challenges
Assimulation
The site we created had to be pixel perfect to match the BBC's existing technology. This included recreating the iconic 'black BBC info bar'.
Sensitive Data
We were working in a very sensitive environnment on the BBC's own servers. The same server that housed BBC News, Weather and IPlayer.
Firm Deadline
Working to a very strict deadline was crutial to the success of this site. It had to be ready a month before CIN aired with no exception.
